Fractional Dinar (Gold, 14 mm, 0.58 g, 12 h), Zaranj, AH 329 = AD 940/1. ‘lā ilāha illā / Allāh waḥdahū / lā sharīka lahū’ (‘There is no deity but Allah, the One, there is no partner to Him’ in Arabic); around, ‘bism Allāh ḍuriba hādhā al-dīnār bi Zaranj sana tisʿ wa ʿishrīn wa thalātha miʾa’ (‘In the name of Allah. This dinar was struck in Zaranj in the year 329’ in Arabic). Rev. ‘li-llāh / Muḥammad / rasūl / Allāh / Khalaf’ (‘For Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.
